Come Be a Part of Scouting

Discover Adventure

Find out what it takes to join the BSA and embark on amazing adventures including camping, hiking, leadership, robotics, knot tying, biking, and so much more!

Develop Leadership

We prepare the followers of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. Scouting fuels the excitement, wonder, and creativity of youth; equipping them with the vital tools to be leaders in business, government, volunteer organizations and in their families.

Become a Volunteer

Become a volunteer leader, teacher or assistant. We need adults to become a part of Scouting. Join the adventure right alongside your son, daughter, or any child. Come see why Scouting is for anyone who has a passion for adventure, and for leadership.

A Rich Heritage of Scouting Tradition

Boy Scout Troop 68, was chartered in 1930 and has been sponsored by the Church of the Cross for 55 years.

Our troop is very active. We have at least one outing every month all year round. Our Scouts enjoy outdoor activities like camping, hiking and fishing. In addition to camaraderie and leadership, the boys learn and practice outdoor skills like camping, cooking, and orienteering on these trips. Our youth leaders plan varied activities and destinations each year. In addition to camping we also go hiking and backpacking, fishing, rock climbing, geocaching and attend High Adventure outings to places such as Philmont Scout Ranch and the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. Our troop meetings are held most Monday nights at the Church of the Cross United Methodist.  Meeting times are 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

"Times and challenges change, yet the values of Scouting will never change."

George W. Bush

"In Scouting, a boy is encouraged to educate himself instead of being instructed."

Robert Baden-Powell

"I strongly believe in Scouting...It's a source of great strength to us."

John F. Kennedy
