Hi Jillian,

Yes, you should be able to bring those on board with you without issue.

Hi Max,

I agree with Jarrod. I can certainly vouch for Samsonite who is known for their luggage that combines lightweight designs with sturdy and durable materials – and that is true whether you are looking at the premium Cosmolite range or the less premium Omni range.

But one thing you should be aware of is that the Cosmolite ranges close with a ZIP ONLY. They don’t have not have a latch. This is important because zipper-only hard cases are more vulnerable to malfunction because zips can break or split apart with stress or excessive wear. So if you buy this case, be sure to also buy luggage straps. Luggage straps are extremely effective to keep your case closed and will help prevent excessive stress or damage to the zipper.

Cheers
Femi

Hi Max,

I’ve not used either luggage line, but both seem to be very well made and have exceptional reviews. For what it’s worth, most people who’ve purchased luggage with Rimowa and Samsonite always seem pleased with their purchase!

Hi, what are your thoughts on Rimowa’s aluminium and hybrid suitcases, as well as Samsonite’s Cosmolite range?

Hi Orenji,

When you say “3 sizes”, are you referring to them giving the length, width, and height sizes?

Hey Avril, we’ve actually done a separate review on Away. You can find it here: Away Travel Carry-On Luggage Review [Worth Buying?] 🙂

Hi Emily,

Thank you for your question. The Eagle Creek Expanse 32 might be the way to go but without any stabilization on the front when it is upright I couldn’t guarantee that it would stay standing when full. If you do go the drop bottom route you can mitigate the risk of it falling over by packing your heaviest items in the bottom section.

If you are willing to sacrifice the drop bottom feature then you should look at the Osprey Rolling Transporter 90 which is 31″ or the Osprey Sojourn 80 which is 28″ but includes stowaway backpack straps.

Hope that helps.

Amar

Hi David,

Thank you for your comment. You are quite right. In addition to a travel lock your luggage should have strong, high-quality, zippers too. There are videos on YouTube on how easy it is to open a suitcase with a pen via the zippers. It’s certainly a lesson to everyone not to buy cheap luggage!

Thanks for reading.

Conventional zippers are very easy to open using just a ballpoint pen! An industry insider website explains some security issues that everyone should be aware of regarding what happens to our luggage behind the scenes at an airport.
